Not only will you get a great deal by buying used, but you'll also get all the benefits of being a Cadillac owner. That means a tranquil driving experience, good-looking exterior, and comfortable, high-tech cabin are now available at prices you could never have imagined. Here are a few of our favorite used Cadillac cars that offer unbeatable value for your money.
A used Cadillac ATS (from 2015-2018 or so) is an excellent find. Take the 2017 ATS, for example. This is one of the only vehicles in its class that was produced with an available six-speed manual transmission on the base engine choice. With stellar performance enhancements made for the 2017 model year, including excellent handling and high-precision steering, there are lots to like about this almost-new and highly coveted sedan.
The ATS is a compact and lively car that’s responsive and capable. For 2017, new engine and transmission options were introduced. The base engine produces 272 horsepower 295 lb-ft of torque. This turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission unless you opt for the manual.
The second engine choice is a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 335 horsepower and 285 pounds-per-foot of torque. It’s rated at about 22 MPG combined, while the smaller base engine will give you about 26 MPG combined. Drivers can choose from rear or all-wheel drive among four trim levels, the ATS, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Premium Performance.
Regardless of which trim you choose, the ATS provides a generous menu of standard safety features. With antilock disc brakes, a rearview camera, traction and stability control, along with OnStar services (which includes on-demand roadside assistance, automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle assistance, turn-by-turn navigation, and remote door unlocking). With OnStar, the ATS inspires confidence in any situation. Parents will also appreciate the standard Teen Driver System.
As you would expect from Cadillac, several standard convenience features are also included starting with the base model. Heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, driver information screen, dual-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and leatherette upholstery are just some of the design elements offered from the get-go.
You’ll also find an 8-inch touchscreen, CUE Infotainment system with voice controls, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 10-speaker Bose audio system with satellite radio, and three USB ports. Despite the fact that most used ATS models start under $20k, no compromises are made in terms of technology, power, or sheer likeability.
The Cadillac CTS is a sharp-looking sedan with distinctive features and awe-inspiring abilities. While a new CTS brags of all the latest bells and whistles, older models remain stunningly impressive and relevant. It’s hard to argue with the value you could get from a 2014 CTS. With price estimates from $23-30k, and a potential horsepower of up to 556 (if you opt for the CTS-V), you won’t miss paying over triple the price for new.
This American muscle car is dressed up like a luxury sedan, offering only the best of all worlds. Under the hood of the CTS-V sits a 6.2-liter supercharged V8. Along with 556 horsepower, it has 551 lb-ft of torque. The standard set-up is a six-speed manual transmission with rear-wheel drive, but buyers were given the option of an automatic transmission at no extra cost.
When it comes to safety, the 2014 CTS sedan is hard to match. It received a perfect five-star rating in overall, frontal, and side crash ratings during government crash tests. Responsive brakes stop within 104 feet from a starting speed of 60 miles per hour during testing. OnStar communications, a rearview camera, navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a pop-up touchscreen interface keep the 2014 CTS from being anything but outdated.
Perhaps the biggest draw for a new or used CTS is its driveability. Although many drivers prefer the control of a manual transmission, putting the automatic transmission in Sport mode produces an arguably superior acceleration. In the CTS-V, Magnetic Ride Control suspension is standard, providing the perfect balance of handling and ride quality. If you’ve ever questioned the power that a used Cadillac has to offer, you’ve never driven a 2014 CTS.
