CAR BUYING SEASON
It’s that time of year again, car buying season. Americans all over the country get nervous during this time of year. It’s time for an upgrade, and so they want to make sure they are getting the right car. This can be a daunting task, with so many cars to choose from, which will be the best one for you? Whether you’re looking for used luxury cars for sale, a used family vehicle, or a sporty new car, Frank Kent Cadillac has a ton of choices to choose from.
So, before you even go to the dealership, let’s look at an overview of some awesome choices in the used car market. We’ll breakdown price, features, and power delivery, helping you to make the best choice for you and your family.
Cadillac ATS Sedan
Let’s start with some used luxury cars. If you’re in the market for a smooth, efficient, and sporty sedan, look no further. This model Cadillac has some awesome features worth mentioning.
Starting with the engine line-up, in recent years Cadillac has used two engines for their premium sedan. An inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, and a 3.6L V6 engine.
When people think of luxury car engines, many people think it’s mandatory to have a smooth, powerful V6 engine. While this can be a nice feature, Cadillac realized that a more fuel-efficient engine was needed. Hence the 2.0 Inline 4-cylinder engine was born. Even though it might not be as big as a V6, it still packs quite a punch. With around 270 hp and around 290 lb.ft. of torque it has enough power to drive you around comfortably. Some of us, though, can’t be convinced that a four cylinder is enough. Understandable, so Cadillac has the 3.6L V6 with around a monstrous 335 hp and 285 lb.ft. of torque. Plenty enough power to cruise around in.
The ATS has two choices when it comes to drivetrain. You can get the RWD and AWD systems. So, if you need better traction for tough terrain, then you can opt for the AWD version. The AWD version with the 3.6L V6 gets a decent 19/27 City/Highway MPG. The RWD system mated with the 2.0L turbocharged engine gets a respectable 22/30 City/Highway MPG. Whatever you end up choosing, you’ll end up with a good system.
Interior and Exterior Features of the Cadillac ATS
The ATS has some great interior features. As a luxury car, you’d expect a comfortable, roomy interior, and this car is no exception. Below are the highlighted interior amenities that come with the ATS.
Cadillac Cue Media Screen
The Apple CarPlay compatible, 8″ diagonal infotainment display is great for a hands-free experience. Included are 3 USB ports, auxiliary input jack, and natural Voice Recognition. So, if you’re a person that needs to be plugged in this car has options.
Wires can be annoying to deal with, especially when driving. This could also distract us from driving as well. If your phone is wireless charging compatible, lay it down on the charging pad, and drive off.
Bose Premium 7-Speaker System
Many consumers love music, especially during their driving. Are you one of those people? The ATS has a great speaker system enabling you to rock out when on the road.
Maybe you’re not looking for a sedan; you have a family, and you’re looking for a vehicle that will carry them all comfortably. Cadillac offers the Escalade, a full-size SUV that doesn’t compromise on luxury while still giving you features that come with an SUV. Sleek looks and a beautiful interior will attract anyone looking for an SUV. But how do you feel about it? To find out we’ll first dive into the powerhouse of the Escalade.
It’s powerful 6.2L EcoTec 3 V8 engine produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb.ft. of torque. This is the only engine offered on the Escalade, but clearly, it has a powerful enough engine to carry the whole family from place to place. While being so powerful, the engine noise never bleeds into the cabin. Now, the 2013 models and those before it had a 6-speed automatic transmission, but in the 2014 refresh, an 8-speed automatic transmission came into play. And in the 2018 models to present a 10-speed transmission, perfect for those times when you need to tow something comfortably on the highway, was added.
When it comes to hauling the family, we know that technology is very important. The Escalade is a very good choice if you’re looking for entertainment that will keep the young ones busy. Features like MP3 player compatibility, Auxiliary Audio Input, and HD radio are standard. But what are the highlights?
Highlights of the Cadillac Escalade
On some models, there are 3 DVD player screens. The front two are behind the head restraints of the driver and passenger seats, while the last one is for those in the 3rd row. The DVD player is (Blu-Ray capable), comes with remote control, and wireless headphones. The children (or your friends) will be entertained for hours on long car trips.
Bose CenterPoint Surround Sound
With the kids entertained, you can’t forget about yourself. The 16-speaker system from Bose will give you a clear, crisp sound from your favorite songs, podcasts, or radio. Some models also come with Active Noise Cancellation, so whatever audio you choose, you will never be disturbed by wind noise or noises around the vehicle.
The driver infotainment system is compatible with most smartphones, putting the power of your phone into your car.
While the Escalade is great, for some it might be too big, and the steep price tag might turn people away. What about an alternative? What about those who need the features of a full-sized SUV but a bit smaller? Cadillac has a good alternative: the SRX. It fits within the compact SUV class perfectly, and it’s great for single drivers while remaining family friendly. Let’s look at what you get with this SUV.
Just because people are looking for a compact SUV doesn’t mean they don’t want power and smooth delivery. The 3.6L V6 available in through 2012 to current models is nothing to laugh at. With specs that are very respectful – 308 hp and 265 lb.ft. of torque – you won’t be disappointed. They mated this V6 engine with a Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control. All of this means that the driver is in further control as it alls the driver better control of shifting gears. But if you want the car to choose what gear it’s in, you can turn this feature off, and drive like you would any car. Best of both worlds, huh?
Entertainment Features on the Cadillac SRX
Like the Escalade, this car has excellent technology built into it. In this model, we have the same option for a Bose CenterPoint Surround Sound System. This system implements ten speakers for a sound that is second to none. Cadillac CUE infotainment system is available in the 2016 model year with an 8″ touchscreen. This infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration into more recent model years. The Cue system also has the option for a Wi-Fi hotspot so the whole family can stay connected.
Interior Cargo Space and Storage on the Cadillac SRX
The SRX does not lack when it comes to storage and cargo capacity. While not as big as other leading car companies, the 61.1 cu.ft. cargo capacity is nothing to cast aside. Plus, all of the storage areas, the center console, and the glovebox have plenty of room. There is also excellent cargo management. The rear storage area includes U-rail with an adjustable cargo fence. Perfect for grocery shopping, or other activities that require heavy use of the trunk.
